Welcome to the inaugural DigitalHealth.Rx Hackathon 2022!

Interested in the intersection of technology and healthcare? Presented by the American Pharmacists’ Association, DigitalHealth.Rx Hackathon is the meeting point of these two domains, where degree-pursuing students can come together to tackle real problems in the world of medicine today. No matter your skill level or skill set, you are welcome to join! Learn and put your expertise to the test by joining us for our virtual hackathon during the weekend of March 11-13 to win prizes, meet new people, gain access to exclusive workshops, and have fun. We can't wait to see you in March!

Each team must have at least one healthcare student and one technology student in the final submission.

For Healthcare Students

Your team will benefit from your understanding of the current healthcare landscape and opportunities for improvement and innovation.

For Tech-Based Students

Your team will benefit from your technical prowess in areas such as coding, database management, UX, UI, and other software development areas to rapidly produce technology solutions to address gaps in healthcare. 

All those who register their team by 11:59pm ET, will receive a link to claim $25 Google Cloud Credits for each team member.

Those teams that opt to submit a project using Google Cloud will be considered for the Google Cloud Challenge Prize – Google Cloud branded pack for each team member!!

Requirements

1. Building an application

We highly encourage an MVP (Minimal Viable Product) of your idea with code and a working demo. No-code proofs of concept are accepted but will be marked for no code. Cheating is not tolerated, such as working on your idea before the hackathon official start time March 11th, 7pm EST. There are anti-cheating measures from Devpost so please do not cheat!

Please make it clear which subtrack you are addressing in your devpost and presentation. 

If you used Google Cloud, please highlight that in your devpost and presentation. 

No cross submissions: You cannot submit your application if you are submitting to other hackathons.

No resubmissions: Projects that have been completed prior to the hackathon are ineligible 

No work prior to the start of the hackathon March 11th at 7pm EST.

2. Submitting a video

To show your project, you must make a presentation about your awesome project! This presentation should at least have the following slides:

The presentation should be under 3 minutes with an emphasis on the problem statement, solution proposal, and demo.

 

To submit the recording of your presentation, there will be an option to add a video when you are completing the submission form.

Judging Criteria

  • Effort in Creation/Technical Merit (40% - Weight)
    Does the final product provide a functional demonstration of its value? Does this final product reflect input and feedback of multiple stakeholders? Does the function of the final product reflect the track?
  • Practicality/Usability (30% - Weight)
    How well did this idea address the needs of a real world user/population? Did the development of this product include end users, patients, or clinicians? Is this idea accessible for the intended users group?
  • Novelty (20% - Weight)
    What separates this idea from what’s in practice? How does this proposed idea solve the problem better than other current solutions?
  • Presentation (10% - Weight)
    How well did the team communicate their work
